Conflict of Interest Policy Summary

PROCON Insurance Brokers is committed to acting honestly, fairly, with due skill, care and diligence, and in the interests of clients at all times. We recognise that conflicts of interest may arise in the course of rendering financial services and that such conflicts must be appropriately identified, avoided where possible, mitigated where necessary, and managed in a manner that does not prejudice clients.

Our Approach

PROCON Insurance Brokers seeks to identify actual or potential conflicts of interest that may arise between:

  • the business and a client;

  • one client and another client;

  • the business and a product supplier;

  • a representative and a client; or

  • any other party involved in the rendering of financial services.

Where a conflict of interest cannot be avoided, reasonable steps will be taken to mitigate and manage the conflict and, where required, to disclose it to the affected client.

Possible Sources of Conflict

Possible conflicts may include, among other things:

  • ownership interests;

  • financial interests received from product suppliers or other parties;

  • relationships with product providers, administrators or service providers;

  • incentives, remuneration arrangements or referral arrangements; and

  • circumstances where a recommendation may be perceived to favour one product, provider or outcome over another.

Measures in Place

To manage conflicts of interest, PROCON Insurance Brokers endeavours to:

  • place the client’s interests first;

  • comply with applicable legislation and regulatory requirements;

  • avoid inappropriate inducements or arrangements that may impair objectivity;

  • disclose material conflicts where required; and

  • maintain policies, controls and professional standards aimed at fair client outcomes.
